Project Manager

Universal Engineering Sciences is looking for a highly qualified Project Manager to join our growing Construction Services Department.


Starting at $65,000/yr

*Salary is negotiable, depending on experience, skillset, and certifications.


Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsibly manage Construction Materials Testing and Inspection projects, which includes providing supervision of special inspectors, materials technicians, laboratory operations, building and public works department coordination, and other related duties. 
  • Prepare Partial and Final Grading Reports, pad certifications, and pad re-certifications as needed for various assigned projects (or supervise completion). 
  • Prepare, review, and approve Pavement Quality Reports, Selected Backfill Reports, Trench Backfill Reports, and other public entity certification reports for private and public developments (or supervise completion). 
  • Prepare Partial and Final QAA/Test Summary Reports for assigned projects (or supervise completion). 
  • Provide project coordination, quantity take-offs, project budget tracking, and other routine tasks associated with construction management/project management for geotechnical and materials-related projects. 
  • Provide client management for clients that are assigned to you. 
  • Provide field inspection support and active field training for new and growing special inspectors and materials testing technicians. 
  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts alongside UES' PMs, executives, and client development professionals. You should anticipate active engagement in at least 2 professional organizations.
  • Assist with UES’ IAS/CCBD/CCPW/Army Corp audits and certification maintenance and reporting. 
  • Continue to gain experience, knowledge, and certifications in areas of interest such as ACI, ICC, NAQTC, NICET, etc. 
  • Enhance UES’ offerings by creating “leading edge” efforts using technology, new methodologies, etc. 
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to UES’ Engineering Interns and other technical staff 
  • Grow to serve as a senior operation leader, alongside department managers and other senior project managers, to lead growth, business development, and technical development. This may include leading team meetings, training exercises, budgeting, financial review efforts, and leading team members in community engagement towards shared goals of increasing revenue and profit. 


Required Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma
  • Must have the ability to act as a project supervisor on large and complex projects involving technical standards, multi-disciplinary teams, and important client relationships
  • Must have knowledge of nuclear densitometer testing for soil compaction
  • Must have knowledge of routing ACI concrete field testing and laboratory concrete strength testing procedures


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred
  • EIT preferred
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in the construction field preferred
