Graphic Designer

Company Description

We are Untold Tales. An indie game publisher with a soft spot for unique stories. But yes, we do have in our portfolio top-down shooters, cozy farming sims and other genres. Why? Because the market is changing and we need to adapt. We’ve been at this for five years now - some wins, some weird moments, but always moving forward. With over 70 games in our war chest and a global squad of chaos agents, we need YOU to help us fuel the hype machine. With a style!

Job Description

Alright, alright, we know our inbox is about to explode with this job posting, because apparently everyone and their dog is a graphic design expert these days. And if they're not, well, ChatG*T will probably handle it, right? Thankfully, life has a funny way of throwing curveballs, which is why we're actually looking for someone who seriously has the skills and a genuine eye for taste. If you're tired of designing yet another shower gel label and crave some real excitement, or if you've been in gamedev for ages and know that launching a game means churning out, like, 200 variations of the same key art, just hit that apply button or at least keep reading.

Still here? Good.

Your main storyline includes quests like:

  1. Become One with the Brand's eyeballs - Absorb our visual DNA and conjure all sorts of assets that scream "US!" based on the crazy ideas we throw your way

  2. Unleash the promo pandemonium - cook up a wild buffet of promotional layouts and images that'll make eyeballs pop (in a good way, mostly)

  3. Brief slayer extraordinaire - when we give you a mission (a brief!), you're the hero who delivers designs that hit the bullseye with a pixel-perfect arrow

  4. Visual consistency crusader - be the unwavering guardian of our aesthetic! Make sure every single thing we put out there looks like it belongs to the same awesome universe

  5. Be the creative sidekick everyone craves - High-five the Marketing Team! You're their partner in pixel-pushing crime, bringing your visual skill  to their marketing needs

Some of the optional side quests:

  • Play our games (yes, that’s an actual job requirement)

  • Be open for feedback and provide the feedback!

  • Cooperate with other team members

Qualifications

What we expect from our Graphic Designer:

  1. Experience working as a Graphic Designer / Marketing Artist and so on (No set years of experience - if you know your stuff, you know your stuff)

  2. Ability to present boring stuff in a non-boring way

  3. Solid communication skills (read: as a team we like talking to each other, so if you prefer to hide behind your Discord avatar, maybe skip this role)

  4. You know how to use Adobe tools (PS/AI/Indesign and others)

  5. Bonus points for the drawing skill

  6. Being a gamer passionate about video games

  7. Fluent English (bonus points if you can swear in multiple languages)
