THE OPPORTUNITY – PRODUCT MANAGER (Hybrid or Remote in Canada only)
In this new role, reporting to the Vice President, Technology, our Product Manager is responsible to develop and grow a team of Product Owners, while overseeing the development of software and hardware products from conception to launch. This role is not about working with old and out-dated legacy systems but helping build one from scratch.
As a key contributor to the team, you will work collaboratively with Software Developers, Engineers, Operations, Business Development, Marketing and more. You have a passion for developing product strategies, conducting market research, defining and articulating product requirements, as well as managing the product backlog, while actively mentoring and supporting the PO team.
Main Duties
- Mentor, coach and grow a team of Product Owners, fostering an environment that encourages collaboration, learning and empowerment. This includes partnering with Human Resources with ongoing talent acquisition.
- Talent acquisition and With a strong understanding of product life cycles, work closely with business stakeholders to develop product strategies and roadmaps.
- Define and prioritize product features and requirements based on business value and customer feedback, balancing timeline priorities and quality requirements.
- Develop and manage the product backlog, ensuring that it is always up-to-date and reflects the latest priorities.
- Work with cross-functional teams including developers, designers, QA, and testers to ensure that products are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Effectively communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to internal and external stakeholders.
- Continuously analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify new product opportunities and drive product improvements.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies and ensure successful product launches.
- Facilitate maintenance of status quo products.
Requirements for Success
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Product Manager, in a technology-focused role.
- Strong technical background and experience working with software development teams.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools such as JIRA.
- Experience working in a start-up environment, building from the ground up.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data to make informed product decisions.
- Knowledge of market research and product analytics tools.
- Experience in the Logistics and Transportation industry is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Passion for technology and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends.
