About Buildings + Places:
Our Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning (inclusive of landscape design), strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management. This diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create. Our California studio focuses on the Commercial/Corporate, Science and Technology, Higher Education, and Federal market sectors. We look to combine beauty, sustainability, resiliency, equity, and innovation in our projects and believe these values can be instilled in any project regardless of size or budget.
Some of our recent projects include tenant build-out spaces, a water reclamation office building and lab facility, a Joint Public Safety Training Center, Package distribution warehouses, and cutting-edge scientific research facilities.

In this role, you'll dive into the world of fire protection engineering, where your creativity and analytical abilities will truly shine. As an intern, you will assist in designing fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and various special suppression systems. You'll also help develop compliance plans aligned with life safety codes and contribute to the engineering design process, all under the guidance of our experienced engineers. Your tasks will include preparing detailed designs and sketches, utilizing computer software tools to solve engineering challenges, and ensuring all project milestones are met on time.
