Technical Sales Representative

⚡ABOUT AMBER


Amber is a new way to buy and sell power, designed for a world powered by renewable energy. We give customers direct access to the real-time wholesale electricity price as it varies every 5 mins. We then provide the technology to shift energy usage to the times when cheaper renewables are available in the grid and export to the grid at times when the price is highest. It’s a cheaper way to buy powera more rewarding way to sell power, and the fastest way for Australia to reach 100% renewable energy.

💻 ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Technical Sales Specialist you’d be working in a small team talking to prospective customers and educating them about purchasing home solar and battery devices, Amber’s Smartshift automation technology to improve their return on investment while also helping accelerate Australia’s transition to 100% renewables.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Achieve set sales revenue targets, selling home solar & battery packages to residential customers
  • Outbound prospective customers, assessing their needs and explaining how Amber can benefit them
  • Understand customer needs, identify potential new opportunities in our product, and provide this feedback to the product and technology teams
  • Provide key insights around sign up conversion, conversation trends and blockers
  • Work with the marketing team to build and target prospective customers 


KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • At Amber, we want to hire self-starters who are eager to learn and are comfortable working in a changing environment. Some of the key traits we are looking for in this role:

  • You’re an excellent communicator - you know the right words and tone to use, whether you’re explaining a concept over the phone, handling a customer complaint or working with an internal stakeholder
  • You’re a problem-solver - you embrace challenges, think on your feet, and work strategically to find solutions
  • You’re persistent - you can deal with the pressure of a fast-paced and changing environment and resolve difficult situations


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, essential.
  • Experience working in sales or similar field, 3 years.
  • Experience working in an outbound sales environment
  • Ability to achieve set monthly revenue targets
  • A history of achieving sales KPI’s
  • An understanding of solar & battery technology, costing and installation scenarios 


$65,000 - $75,000 a year
Salary range is between $65,000 and $75,000 per annum and is quoted excluding superannuation. All roles at Amber include employee stock options over and above the base salary and superannuation.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Melbourne. We’ve embraced a flexible working model with some days work-from-home and some days office based. Our sales team keeps to the same schedule with set days for each.

🎓 Hiring Process:


Our hiring process will be as below:

- A screening interview with our talent team

- Followed by/can be scheduled separately, a time-bound case study exercise that should take no longer than 60 minutes

- A follow-up case study panel interview which will include a chat with our Sales Lead and another member of our Sales team

- A final chat with our General Manager of Sales
