Job Title: Tax Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a Tax Manager who excels in building relationships with clients, engaging in meaningful conversations, and providing comprehensive tax solutions. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage all aspects of tax engagements, prepare tax returns, and continually learn to become a subject matter expert in their area of interest.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through engaged conversations.
• Act as the client's advisor, providing answers and solutions to their tax matters.
• Conduct research or seek guidance from colleagues when necessary to address client needs.
• Plan, schedule, and manage all aspects of tax engagements.
• Prepare business and individual tax returns.
• Perform field work including the preparation of complex work papers and monitoring the work paper preparation of staff.

Essential Skills

• CPA designation required.
• 5-9 years of relevant tax experience in a similar public accounting firm position.
• Proven financial, analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent client service and demonstrated business development skills.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee and manage engagements, prioritize tasks, and supervise/motivate staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to client locations, mostly day trips; minimal overnight travel is required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with the Bedford area, preferably residing in or near Bloomington.

Work Environment

This position is office-based in a newly acquired office environment as of December. The role involves minimal overnight travel, with most travel being day trips to client locations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
