The opportunity


We’re looking for an AI Labeller with a deep understanding of the Australian high school curriculum, particularly English/HSIE a strong knowledge of assessment standards and a keen interest in technology.


At Atomi, we’ve pioneered the use of AI for instant marking and personalised feedback within online interactive assessments. This helps us deliver effective learning and teaching to 700+ high schools across Australia and beyond. In this role, you'll be joining our AI data team and using your expertise to ensure that our AI Marking & Feedback systems operate safely and continue to exceed our high standards of accuracy and relevance.


Please note: This is a casual role with the expectation of approximately 5 hours per week of work


Your Contribution:
  • Guideline Development: Contribute to the development of marking guidelines, ensuring they are clear and comprehensible to the data labelling team.
  • Marking Reviewer: Adjudicating student marking disputes and feedback to understand marking errors, diagnose feedback issues and contribute to the active learning of AI models.
  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to AI model stress and adversarial testing to ensure behavioural accuracy, safety and harmlessness of AI models.
  • Pedagogical Insight: Suggest improvements to how we mark, grade and deliver feedback to students and teachers based on your insights, data trends and feedback from various stakeholders.


We Are Looking For Someone With:
  • Educational Background: Outstanding academic results in the Australian High School or Tertiary Education context, demonstrated a 98+ ATAR, Premier’s All-Rounder Award, or another equivalently recognised academic achievement.
  • Analytical and Critical Thinking: Ability to work methodically through complex problems step-by-step with a clear rationale. You use your quantitative skills and reasoned arguments to make clear judgments.
  • Technological Curiosity: Interest in how AI can transform educational practices, with a willingness to bridge traditional assessment methods with innovative technological solutions.
  • Data-Driven Thinking: Interest in data-driven processes and governance is preferable but not required; training will be provided.
