Scientist - Customer Therapeutics (Pilots)

We are seeking a Scientist on our Customer Therapeutics Pilots team, reporting to the Customer Therapeutics Pilots team lead. The Science department at BenchSci is a team of internal subject matter experts, applying their scientific insights to contribute to enhancing our platform for users, who are research scientists, just like you! You will apply your scientific research knowledge and experience to help identify solutions to real-world scientific problems, while contributing to the development of BenchSci’s technology and product offering. 


In this role, you will work cross-functionally, collaborating closely with team members from Go-to-Market, Science, Engineering, and Product to deliver Pilot studies to our prospective customers. The ideal candidate is a scientifically rigorous professional with excellent problem-solving, communication and technical data analysis skills, who is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. 


You Will:
  • Lead complex scientific projects, conducting research, generating scientific strategies and reports, setting timelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights for industry stakeholders.
  • Leverage subject matter expertise in preclinical drug development to collaborate with scientists across a variety of therapeutic areasand timely delivery of impactful results aligned with customer needs.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to extract insights from large datasets, identifying opportunities to enhance data depth, breadth, and accuracy.
  • Proactively contribute to data enrichment by sourcing and evaluating relevant scientific literature, ensuring the accuracy and depth of our platform's data.
  • Participate in customer-facing meetings to support various customer projects, leveraging your scientific expertise to develop strategies that showcase the capabilities of BenchSci’s platform.
  • Collaborate with Go-to-Market and Product teams to understand customer needs and integrate feedback to enhance the platform.
  • Keep up to date with the latest biomedical research, applying your knowledge to guide technology development and ensure our platform remains at the cutting edge.
  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


You Have:
  • PhD in biology, bioinformatics, life sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 2+ years of drug development experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.
  • Prior experience working on translational, human-focused research within Cardiometabolic Disease, Respiratory Disease or Neuro-immunology is preferred, but the candidate should be comfortable solving complex scientific problems across various therapeutic areas.
  • Experience with analyzing large datasets, with the ability to use SQL, Python, and/or R preferred.
  • Proven ability toindependently drive projects to completion and develop data-driven solutions for complex problems.
  • Natural curiosity coupled with a high level of organization, time management, project management, and attention to detail.
  • Highly collaborative team member with exceptional communication skills, adept at conveying complex scientific insights clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including experts and non-specialized stakeholders.
