Intern, Training Specialist

Job Description

This application is for a 12-week internship role from June - August 2025. Resume review begins in January 2025.

As an intern, you will work closely with the Site Training Team to identify learning needs an align learning priorities with expected outcomes. This position offers exposure to the design, development, and deployment of best-in-class training. You will support and contribute to GMP training initiatives within the RTP BIO Manufacturing site.  

Position Description

The ideal candidate will have an interest in adult learning, project management, cGMP training in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.  

  • Work under the supervision of the Site Training Team  
  • Working with the Site Training Team to support training projects by assisting in designing and delivering tailored and impactful learning initiatives  
  • Support critical business needs through staff-focused onboarding and upskilling 
  • Engage with Biogen staff to increase learner access, use, and impact of training initiatives 

Example projects may include: 

  • Support training projects with instructional design and adult learning principles 
  • Review and test new training tools- AR, AI tools, etc  
  • Working on developing a manager friendly dashboard to track training metrics and completions/overdues  

Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS office programs; elearning authoring tools is a plus  
  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Highly organized and strong interpersonal savvy 

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria: 

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. 
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date 
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college or university 

Education 

  • Completed at least two years of undergraduate studies prior to scheduled start date, with a graduation date no earlier than August 2025.
  • Candidate must be pursuing a BA or BS degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Communications or similar disciplines. 
  • Candidate must have a demonstrated interest or coursework in adult learning and training program management, international development, business project management, data analytics, or organizational development. 

Location 

  • This role is on-site in Research Triangle Park, NC.
