UX Researcher

This opportunity is a part of Blink's Embedded practice which supports long-term opportunities with some of Blink’s largest client partners.


We are looking for a strategic and innovative UX Researcher who is passionate about uncovering user insights and translating them into impactful design decisions. In this role, you will focus on competitive analysis, pulling inspiration for projects, and setting up and running usability tests or interviews. You will collaborate primarily with the UX design team, including content management, to provide foundational research and ensure designs are user-centric and impactful.

The primary focus will be on qualitative research methods, competitive analysis, user testing, and synthesizing insights to drive impactful design decisions.

What you will be doing
  • Competitive Analysis and Inspiration Gathering
  • Conduct competitive analysis and pull inspiration for various projects to provide designers with a solid foundation.
  • Identify emerging trends, best practices, and innovative design solutions in the industry.
  • Present competitive insights and inspiration in clear, actionable formats for the design team.

  • User Testing and Research Execution
  • Set up and run usability tests or interviews, including Maze.com testing, to gather user feedback on designs.
  • Conduct both generative and evaluative research depending on project needs.
  • Utilize qualitative research methods to uncover user motivations, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Support both moderated and unmoderated testing to validate designs and enhance user experiences.

  • Research Synthesis and Deliverables
  • Synthesize research findings into clear, concise insights to inform design decisions.
  • Create executive summaries and other deliverables that effectively communicate research findings.
  • Support both personas and archetypes and assist with journey mapping where relevant.

  • Measuring Impact and Research Effectiveness
  • Measure the impact of research on product design and business metrics.
  • Track research effectiveness and report on ROI (nice-to-have).
  • Ensure that research insights lead to actionable design and business decisions.

  • Optional Exploration and Innovation
  • Explore AI and emerging tools to enhance research methodologies and data synthesis when appropriate.
  • Experiment with innovative research techniques as time allows to gain deeper user insights.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Support
  • Collaborate primarily with the UX design team, including content management, but also with Product Owners, Journey Managers, the data team, the customer research team, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate research workshops and brainstorming sessions to align teams on user needs and strategic directions.
  • Partner with designers to ensure user insights are effectively integrated into design solutions.


Your background
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in UX research.
  • Strong background in competitive analysis, usability testing, and user interviews.
  • Experience with a variety of UX research methods, with a focus on qualitative research approaches.
  • Proficiency in FigJam and Miro for synthesis, or familiarity with other whiteboarding tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence design decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
