Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity. We are seeking an Experienced Optical Sensors Engineer to join our Optical Sensors Team located in Berkeley, MO .
The Optical Sensors team is a growing organization within Sensors and Special Programs focused on developing and integrating optical sensor solutions for the USAF, USN, and International Customers. This position will be in direct support of the Boeing F-22 program.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop requirements & specifications for sensors
Develop architecture to integrate components into higher level
Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation and analysis
Define tests to validate requirements & performance
Develop, qualification & verification testing
Collect/prepare/analyze data and submit to constituents
Technical drawings & data coordination (including data items)
ATPs and DD250s
Non-conformances
Production hardware failures/issues resolution
Recommend engineering solutions
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of related work experience with a Bachelors or 3+ years of related work experience with a Masters or PhD
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more years’ experience designing, analyzing, and or testing complex EO/IR systems
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $90,050 - $129,950
