Job Description

ONLY PERMANENT EMPLOYEES IN THE TITLE AND THOSE THAT ARE REACHABLE ON THE PRINCIPAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOCIATE CIVIL SERVICE LIST ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY.

Division/Program Summary:
The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is a comprehensive interagency program that supports infants and children with developmental delays in their efforts to realize their full potential. It reduces the likelihood of delays among at-risk children, assists and empowers families to meet their child's and their own needs, and entitles children, regardless of race, ethnicity or income to services through the program. EIP is legally mandated under Title II-A, 2552, of Article 25 of the NYS PHL to ensure that eligible children receive therapeutic services as soon as possible. The process of getting children to services includes processing referrals to the EIP, scheduling evaluations and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings, and authorizing services.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Pre-IFSP Specialist will develop expertise in the NYS EI Hub case management system, Tableau and the Health Commerce System Secure File Transfer Protocol in order to process children’s case actions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor a Tableau dashboard, approve actions in the EI Hub, and follow up with the initial service coordinator regarding assignments and submissions.
- Review multidisciplinary evaluations for completeness, enter them into the ESU application, reject or accept the evaluation in the EI Hub, and assign a scheduler to eligible children. Upload evaluations into the child’s electronic case file.
- Process case closures, issues written notice to parent, and escalate parent issues to the Assistant Director.

PRINCIPAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOC - 10124

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in "1" above; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in "1" above;
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in "1" above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in "1" above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3½ years.
