Head of Marketing

About Deep Sky

Deep Sky is building Canada’s first gigaton-scale carbon removal company. We develop and deploy large-scale Direct Air Capture (DAC) infrastructure to permanently remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Our goal is audacious: to help reverse climate change by scaling carbon removal into a planetary solution.

Our product is a high-durability carbon removal credit, sold to forward-thinking enterprises aiming to meet their net zero commitments. This is a nascent, voluntary market with long sales cycles and complex enterprise buyers. As pioneers in this space, we're not waiting for the market to mature—we're building it.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a hands-on, creative Head of Marketing to join our team. You’ll be the first marketing hire and will be expected to roll up your sleeves, experiment rapidly, and lay the foundation for Deep Sky’s demand engine.

Your mission: build and scale our top-of-funnel, generate high-quality inbound leads, and establish Deep Sky as a category-defining brand in carbon removal.

This is a builder role. No juniors, no silos—just high-impact work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute campaigns to attract enterprise buyers of carbon removal credits
  • Develop high-converting content, events, media campaigns, and email marketing strategies
  • Launch and optimize SEO, SEM, and paid media channels
  • Own the marketing funnel from awareness through qualified lead handoff to sales
  • Position Deep Sky as a leader in high-durability carbon removal
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to translate complex scientific ideas into accessible stories
  • Partner with the sales team to create collateral, case studies, one-pagers, and pitch decks
  • Understand and support a long, relationship-driven enterprise sales cycle
  • Iterate based on insights from champions inside enterprise buyers
  • Build marketing systems from scratch—analytics, automation, CRM integration
  • Own performance metrics, pipeline attribution, and marketing ROI
  • Set strategy while executing tactically—you’ll write the copy, run the ads, ship the emails

Qualifications
  • Have 5–10+ years of B2B marketing experience with enterprise sales cycles
  • Have a track record of generating qualified leads in early markets
  • Are equally comfortable writing a landing page and designing a GTM strategy
  • Have high creative range: you can write a clever ad, optimize a funnel, and run a webinar. How will you get us on the front page of Time?
  • Love climate tech or emerging tech (experience in climate is a plus, but not required)
  • Think from first principles—you experiment, test, learn, and adapt
  • Thrive in ambiguity and have zero ego when it comes to execution

Compensation and benefits
  • 100% remote
  • A competitive salary based on experience and participation in the equity of our innovative company in the climate field.
  • Health, vision, and dental coverage.
  • State-of-the-art Apple hardware provided
  • Unlimited vacation
  • Entrepreneurial culture where pushing limits and taking risks is everyday business
  • Open communication with management and company leadership
