What You’ll Do:
Ensure legal compliance of all training content and new product offerings across federal, state, and industry-specific regulations.
Develop legal playbooks for both proactive GTM/product alignment and reactive public/customer-facing communication on legislative changes.
Advise on employment law, partnering with People Operations on internal compliance, policies, and risk mitigation.
Identify and scope new product opportunities tied to legislative trends, helping shape the legal product roadmap.
Manage relationships with external counsel, including Ferber for employment matters and other firms for compliance/product counsel.
Lead legal operations, including contracts, online terms, IP strategy, privacy policies, and risk management.
Create thought leadership content (e.g., whitepapers, compliance reports) and represent EasyLlama in press, speaking engagements, and customer webinars.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience to embed legal insights across the business.
Who You Are:
Juris Doctor from a top accredited law school and have an active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
8-10+ years of legal experience with a focus on employment law, labor regulations, and/or compliance
Experience at a leading employer law firm and prior in-house counsel experience preferably in the SaaS, HR tech, or compliance training industry or equivalent experience advising on compliance requirements for workplace training or HR-related products
Strong business acumen and ability to act as a strategic partner to the executive leadership and working cross-functionally with business teams, especially Product, HR, and Marketing, to align legal strategies with business goals
Experience managing external counsel and legal budgets
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance legal risk and business strategy in a high-growth environment
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable business advice
Strong risk management skills, with a proactive approach to identifying legal and business risks and implementing mitigation strategies
