Job Description

  • Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories PSS is searching for a molecular biologist to play a key role in development and optimization of technologies that complement our client’s current ones. The candidate will be an integral part of an innovative and interdisciplinary team that utilizes phage and mRNA display platforms to enable de novo peptide discovery. The candidate should demonstrate experience in basic biochemical techniques, molecular biology and/or in vitro assay development. A successful candidate would show scientific curiosity, and desire to learn and implement new technologies and platforms.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Support the peptide discovery team in the build and execution of phage and mRNA display selections to identify target specific peptide therapeutics. 
  • Routinely prepare reagents and perform basic biochemical assays to support phage and mRNA display selections including peptide libraries, components of in vitro translation system, aminoacyl-tRNAs and buffers.
  • Diligently maintain detailed, and well-organized records of experiments using Electronic Notebooks

 

Qualifications

  • Candidates should have a B.S in biological sciences (immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or similar field) with 1-2 years of relevant academic or industrial experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience in basic biochemical and molecular biology techniques

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Knowledge and experience with phage and/or mRNA display platform
  • Knowledge and experience in PCR, DNA/RNA preparation & purification, ELISA and in vitro transcription and translation
  • Knowledge and experience in cloning, cell-culture and protein expression & purification
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic, independent and results oriented.

Pay Range: $50,000-$55,000 Annually
