Aerospace Stress Engineer (fixed term)

Responsibilities

* The role is for a fixed duration of 6 months.

  • Perform stress analysis and calculations for aerospace components (including composites), systems, and structures using Nastran linked software (Hyperworks)
  • Analyze and interpret stress results to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications
  • Conduct static and fatigue analyses to assess the structural integrity and durability of aerospace components
  • Generate detailed analysis reports and technical documentation to document methodologies and conclusions.
  • Meshing depending on Client Specifications (1D, 2D, 3D, mixed model, Skin Elements, Rigid Elements etc.)
  • Creating Boundary Conditions and Loads (mostly in Nastran Input file)
  • Creating various checks for the model
  • Debugging (fatal errors and warnings in f06) and checking the coherence of the model
  • Post-processing using specific client options
  • Participate in design reviews and other specific meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • Knowledge of aircraft structure and aircraft loads
  • Experienced in the static calculations for sizing and stress analysis of the aircraft structures by means of hand calculations, valid methods, numerical simulations (FEM)
  • Experience in numerical modeling, post-processing, extraction & reporting of the results
  • Very well-versed in stress dossier writing
  • Knowledge and experience on composite and sandwich structures (desirable)
  • Essential skills:
  • Hyperworks - Hypermesh, Hyperview (post-processing knowledge)
    • Catia V5 (basic)
    • MS Office, Excel & VBA macros
    • Nastran
    • Isami
