Job Description

Freshworks is seeking a Director of Product PR with a proven track record in strategic communications, media relations, and technical thought leadership as tools for increasing company awareness. This role reports into the VP of Communications and will be responsible for elevating Freshworks’ perception in the Customer Experience and Employee Experience markets, including customer service, IT and employee service management.

Passion for emerging technology and creative storytelling is key. You are comfortable translating sophisticated technologies and concepts into compelling stories for the media, and lead communications activities that advance broader business goals. You will partner closely with senior executives across the product, engineering and marketing teams to define strategies and get results that set Freshworks apart. With a customer-first approach, you have the ability to tell stories that earn attention from the press. A deep understanding of generative AI and IT technologies and the related media landscape is a requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Awareness Among CIOs and CCOs Through the Press. Lead the communications strategy for our suite of AI-powered service solutions that serve the needs of  IT, CS, HR, and other business teams. Drive all aspects of always-on comms campaigns including Freshdesk, Freshservice and other product announcements, partnerships, the use of owned data, proactive media strategies, customer stories, and more. 
  • Amplify Strategic ISV Partnerships. Partner with product and integration teams to identify key strategic partnerships and craft narratives that will land with the tech press. This includes AWS, Microsoft and Google as well as integration applications in the Freshworks Marketplace.
  • Create Unique Points of View in EX and CX. Develop messaging and a point of view on AI applied in EX and CX to land outstanding business, tech, and trade media in addition to speaking opportunities and social strategies for our Chief Technology Officer, Chief Product Officer and SVPs in Product and Engineering. You understand IT and CS market trends and how we should be tapping into them to drive relevance, as well as competitive threats and guide how we respond. 
  • Write Compelling Content. Write and edit a variety of content including product announcements, summaries for earnings scripts, executive bylines and keynotes, and customer-focused press releases. You ensure a consistent voice and compelling story come to life in everything you touch.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in PR and corporate communications, with a proven track record in top-tier business and tech media relations reaching CIOs.
  • Prior experience in the B2B and enterprise technology space is strongly preferred, with an understanding of an enterprise go-to-market motion and product development cycles, and where communications fits in.
  • An adaptable and proactive mindset with the ability to deliver results under the high pressure, often ambiguous circumstances, and thrive with minimal direction.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills when it comes to technical concepts.
  • Consistent track record in building relationships and collaborating with press, executives, partners and other team members.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive insights from data.

Additional Information

The annual base salary range for this position is $197,800 - 280,000 USD.

Compensation is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location, experience, job-related skills, and level. Bonus/equity may be available.
