This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, fully testing and managing our company's network infrastructure.
This role requires a deep understanding of network architecture, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead a team of network engineers ranging in experience and expertise. Leadership will be required in areas including prioritization, escalations, high-profile troubleshooting, and cross-team collaboration.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network design, security, and performance optimization.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement network solutions to meet cross-functional business requirements.
- Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including wireless access points, routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Advise a team of network engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network solutions with other systems.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for network configurations, processes, and procedures.
What You’ll Need
- Minimum 10 years of experience in network engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or other related field required.
- Certifications Preferred: CCNP, CCIE, etc.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Superior troubleshooting and investigatory skills with a strong sense of urgency in high-profile outage situations.
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco IOS, NXOS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, FCOE and FC environments.
- Ability to implement & deliver complex technical projects within a defined schedule covering LAN, WAN, Wireless, 4/5G, SD-WAN, VPNs, NAC, and Zero Trust.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Meraki, and other core networking hardware.
- Expertise in network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in network performance tuning and optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.
- Experience with network security technologies and best practices.
