Senior Health Informatics Consultant

Kentro is seeking a results-oriented and experienced Senior Health Informatics Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing projects, conducting research, evaluation, and analysis, with a focus on health information technology (IT) interoperability and data usability. This role will contribute to the improvement of information continuity and health outcomes for patients through effective collaboration and the application of health informatics principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead or manage health informatics projects to ensure timely and successful implementation, meeting organizational goals related to health information technology (IT) interoperability and data usability.
  • Conduct research and provide data-driven evaluations and analyses to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of health information exchange.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with IT teams, healthcare providers, and VA or DoD stakeholders to ensure seamless data integration and accurate data workflows.
  • Identify opportunities for improving health information continuity and support initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes.
  • Apply knowledge of health informatics standards, frameworks, and regulations to ensure compliance with healthcare data management practices.
  • Assist in knowledge sharing to enhance the understanding and application of health information exchange tools and systems.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and best practices in health informatics, data analytics, and health IT.
  • Support the identification and documentation of new business requirements; support the production validation of new capabilities after implementation.
  • Collaborate with VHA leaders at all levels to ensure that current and future needs are accurately captured and represented in various forums and forms of documentation.
  • Serve as an executive level liaison using expert knowledge and experience in management of the healthcare delivery systems to support executive level program, operation initiatives to include VHA privacy, patient matching expertise, and VHA policy.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and facilitate proper implementation of legal agreements (e.g., BAAs, MOUs) in alignment with organizational policies for new and existing initiatives.

Location: This position will be performed remotely and will support Eastern Time working hours.

  • Certificate of Advanced Study in Health Informatics or 5 years’ direct experience in health information exchange.
  • Proven experience managing health informatics projects, with a strong understanding of healthcare data, interoperability, and health IT standards.
  • Strong analytical, research, and evaluation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with health information systems, electronic health records (EHR), and data exchange standards such as HL7, FHIR, and CCD.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, in all health informatics practices and initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in clinical settings or working directly with healthcare providers.
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools and software commonly used in health informatics.
  • General understanding of data transmitted via systemic exchanges for care coordination and how it's used by care providers.

Clearance:

  • Must have an active Public Trust Tier 2 Clearance or higher.
  • Must be willing to maintain Public Trust Clearance while working for Kentro.
