OverviewLMI is seeking an IoT Engineer for our IoT Team in Tysons, VA. The IoT Engineer is responsible for developing new digitally enabled end to end services that solve pain points for our customers. This is done by performing studies with our customers as well as testing in a lab setting allowing us to demonstrate solution feasibility and capture insights. This position requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. You must be a U.S. citizen.The IoT engineer will be a part of a team of people which must take the initiative to make things happen. The IoT engineer must have a bias for rapidly developing solutions for our customers, understanding environmental limitations, and growing their knowledge. This person will work closely with the cross functional teams within LMI to help advance the development of end-to-end solutions.In addition to being a technical expert for device set-up, operation and troubleshooting of connected offers and devices, the IoT engineer is expected to have or quickly develop basic fluency with:Customer empathy, value propositions, and customer feedback, Statistics and data analysis and how to communicate them, Programming for data analysis, embedded systems design, or application development, Business model development & validation, The principles and practices of an intrapreneurial fail fast/learn fast mentality.At LMI, we’re reimagining the path from insight to outcome at The New Speed of Possible™. Designing experiments to evaluate, summarize and present best practices, system configurations, tuning, and use case creation. Key technology offerings currently under development are RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and Embedded sensor technology. Working part-time at an IoT lab space located in Tysons, VA, where resources are allocated for exploring solutions, identifying technology enablers, and developing current and future product offerings. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience. Understand the Internet of Things, Sensor Integration and API end points. Understand UHF RFID and Embedded Sensor Technology. Understand Network engineering MQTT | HTTP(S). Understand C or C++ for embedded systems design. Understands deployment considerations and facilities nuances. Knowledge of RF hardware systems and testing equipment. Professional and detail-oriented work ethic. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional troubleshooting skills. Eligible for DOD Secret clearance. Desired Understanding of Python for data analytics (MATLAB | Pandas | Numpy etc.) Understanding of the relationship between IoT and Cloud environments. A willingness to take initiative and learn.Target salary range: $100,300 - $176,358 . Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation.
