We are looking for
PATENT MANAGER
for a permanent full-time position in our Technology team in Espoo.
Your role in the Forest of the Future
As the Patent Manager in the Technology team, you will support the daily operations of Metsä Group's business operations in patent matters, ensuring smooth everyday life and high-quality customer service. The purpose is to enhance the strategic value of the company's intellectual property assets for Metsä Fibre and Metsä Board. Your work is versatile and independent, but you will also collaborate flexibly with different stakeholders.

We expect you to have a suitable education for the position: a master's degree in chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, materials science, or a comparable field relating to bioproducts, chemistry or natural fibers and polymers.
You have experience in international IPR law and practices, and possess good English language skills. Other languages are valued as an asset. A qualification for professional representation in front of national/regional patent offices (e.g., Finnish patent attorney, EP patent attorney) is also considered an asset. Additionally, you have excellent communication, networking, and influencing skills.
You do your job punctually, proactively and reliably. With your positive and service-minded attitude, you know how to adapt to a wide range of situations that come your way. You take care of things with an active approach and take things to the end.
