Role Summary
As a Compliance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that products meet regulatory standards, industry requirements, and internal quality benchmarks. You will be responsible for defining, executing, and documenting tests to verify the functionality, reliability, and safety of products. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address compliance issues throughout the product development lifecycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to ensure product compliance
· Collaborate with regulatory agencies and contractors to obtain and maintain necessary certifications and approvals
· Work directly with firmware, software, and electromechanical systems
· Analyze test results, identify deviations from expected outcomes, and troubleshoot issues
· Conduct risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps and mitigate associated risks
· Document test plans, procedures, and results
· Maintain accurate records of testing activities and ensure traceability of results
· Work closely with product development teams to understand design requirements and constraints
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create detailed test plans that align with product specifications and quality standards
· Investigate and troubleshoot any issues or anomalies discovered during testing, working closely with design and manufacturing teams to resolve them
· Maintain comprehensive records of test procedures, results, and observations. Generate test reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
· Ensure that all testing activities adhere to relevant industry standards and safety regulations
· Collaborate with engineering, supply chain manufacturing team to provide input on product design, reliability, and manufacturability
· Ability to work productively in a business that inherently has high levels of ambiguity with proven ability to operate in a matrixed organization
· Develop comprehensive test plans based on product specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
· Conduct testing activities using appropriate tools, equipment, and methodologies
· Provide feedback on product design and development processes to improve overall quality and compliance
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school
· Minimum of 5 years of direct experience working with electromechanical products in regulatory compliance or a related field
· Working knowledge of relevant regulatory standards (e.g., NSF, UL, CE, CB) and testing methodologies
· Experience with electrical hardware, PCBA, sensors, motor control, and communication systems
· Testing electrical devices with digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, etc
· Experience with firmware and software testing and troubleshooting
· Ability to summarize technical information and project status for communication with nontechnical upper management, stakeholders, etc
· Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
· Able to be in office in Renton, WA 4-5 days per week
· Other responsibilities and duties as assigned

· ERP (especially Infor/Syteline) knowledge
· Project Management Experience
· Love of coffee and knowledge of the industry
· Ability to speak foreign languages

The annual salary range for this position is up to $130,000 per year based on factors including, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
