Role Summary:
We're seeking a passionate Community Lead to nurture and grow the broader AI filmmaking ecosystem, working in close partnership with teams at our Asteria studio to help push forward the cutting edge of AI filmmaking. This role will focus on sharing Asteria and Moonvalley’s expertise to elevate the entire community's capabilities across all tools and technologies, fostering open source collaboration, and building a knowledge-sharing network that advances the entire field of AI-powered creative expression.
The Community Lead will be responsible for growing our generative videography community through meetups, online forums such as Discord, live events, open source collaboration, and knowledge sharing — all while building a network of Moonvalley power users who champion our clean model and collaborative tools. Through technical workshops, community initiatives, and close collaboration with filmmakers and studios, you'll help shape an AI filmmaking future that pushes creative boundaries while respecting the work and rights of artists everywhere.
What you'll do:
Develop and execute a comprehensive community strategy that elevates technical capabilities across the AI filmmaking ecosystem and nurtures a passionate user base
Create and manage an education program including technical workshops, hands-on training sessions, and eventually certifications
Design and run hackathons, local and school film festivals, and technical challenges that push the boundaries of AI filmmaking and generative media
Establish a global ambassador program to support regional community growth wherever there is talent and passion for generative filmmaking
Cultivate partnerships with open source projects, educational institutions, and other clean AI companies to create collaborative community opportunities
Develop technical training materials in collaboration with community experts and our internal team; encourage and maintain documentation and learning resources by and for the community
Manage an active Discord community focused on technical knowledge sharing and collaboration
What we're looking for:
Track record of successful partnership building with filmmakers, content creators, educational institutions, open source organizations, and others aligned with our mission
Demonstrated commitment to knowledge sharing and community mobilization
Natural mentor and charismatic leader with ability to identify, nurture, and spotlight a diverse range of talent wherever you find it
Experience moderating discussions & events in online forums such as Discord and Zoom
Experience organizing technical workshops, hackathons, film festivals, or similar large-scale IRL events
Experience with cutting-edge practices in AI, filmmaking, and FX yourself is a big plus
In our team, we approach our work with the dedication similar to Olympic athletes. Anticipate occasional late nights and weekends dedicated to our mission. We understand this level of commitment may not suit everyone, and we openly communicate this expectation.
If you're motivated by deeply technical problems, a seemingly never-ending uphill battle and the opportunity to build (and own) a generational technology company, we can give you what you're looking for.
