Position Summary

Momentus Capital’s Marketing and Communications team is seeking a motivated Internal Communications Intern to support strategic initiatives that enhance staff engagement and event marketing. This role will provide hands-on experience in internal communications, content creation, and digital platform management, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects within a dynamic team. This individual will assist the Internal Communications Manager in internal communications, project management, employee event planning, event communications and post-event analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, proficiency in written communication, and creative approach.

The primary event that this role supports will occur in Atlanta, Georgia however the direct supervisor and key stakeholders are located in the greater DC area. The ideal candidate is located in DC or Atlanta and will primarily work remotely. This role requires occasional travel and flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on the level of event support needed.

This internship is part time (20-25 hours a week) and will end on 9/3/2025.

Essential Responsibilities

The intern will play a key role in ensuring that internal event messaging aligns with organizational goals, assisting with event communications such as email development, registration testing, and post-event surveys. Additionally, they will support the creation of the “Intranet 101” MomentusU video and supplemental resources to improve intranet adoption and usage. Other responsibilities include managing intranet updates, maintaining employee profiles, and drafting the bi-monthly “Round Up” email series.

Event Communication

●      Help align internal event messaging with organizational goals, assisting with event communications such as email planning and development, Cvent Application inputting and registration testing, and post-event surveys.

●      Support the Internal Communications Manager in the creation and updating speaker guides, project trackers, committee materials, email drafts, FAQs, manager talking points, and volunteer communications and guides.

 

Intranet Support

●      Work with the Internal Communications Manager to create an “Intranet 101” video.

●      Work with Internal Communications Manager and Graphic Designer to review and update supplemental resources (images, graphics, documents) to improve intranet adoption and usage.

●      Manage adding new employees to the intranet.

 

Internal Communications

●      Support the bi-monthly roundup series by helping research topics, drafting content, and schedule the sending editions.

●      Passionate about our mission to support underserved communities.

●      Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Hospitality, Education or a related field (or equivalent experience).

●      Minimum 2 years of experience providing marketing and communications support in a fast-paced environment.

●      Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

●      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working collaboratively in team environments and with leadership.

●      Expertise with, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn, the following: Cvent, AxiosHQ, Simpplr, Certify.

●      Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as necessary for events.

The salary range for this position is $18 - $20 an hour.

 

This role is primarily remote with in office activities, must be able to go in when required (about once a month).
