The Oklahoma Indigent Defense System (OIDS) is the statewide public defender agency which provides legal representation to indigent clients throughout the State of Oklahoma, with the exception of Oklahoma and Tulsa counties.
OIDS is currently seeking a full-time Assistant Finance Officer in the Executive Division in our Norman office.
Basic Purpose
Assistant Finance Officer will assist in responsibilities related to purchasing, accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and all other aspects of fiscal management for the agency. The ideal candidate will be highly organized; detail oriented; customer oriented, including internal customers; self-motivated with the ability to respond to changing priorities, meet tight deadlines with quick turnarounds and work collaboratively; proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Sign, and ERP platforms such as PeopleSoft.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and theories; of financial statements and reports; of accounting ledgers and journals; and of computer technology related to accounting systems. Ability is required to prepare basic financial statements and reports; to review and analyze financial information; and to maintain routine accounting data in appropriate ledgers and journals.
This position requires a Certified Procurement Officer certification from the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES). Preference will be given to candidates who already possess this certification.
