Associate Manager, Communications (Hybrid - New York)

About the Role: 

The Associate Manager, Global Communications will play a critical role in supporting all aspects of global PR, VIP and ambassador relations, and communications strategy. This role requires a highly organized and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Associate Manager will be responsible for executing press initiatives, tracking media coverage, and ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams, external agencies, and brand partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Press & Influencer Relations

• Support the Global Communications Team and PR agency in press outreach, award submissions, and media relations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships in tandem with the Global PR agency in beauty, lifestyle, and trade media, ensuring consistent and impactful press coverage.
• Assist in compiling briefs, creating tool kits and ensuring seamless execution of all campaigns and partnerships.

Editorial & Reporting

• Track and analyze all press coverage and award recognition.
• Compile bi-weekly internal reports summarizing key media wins, campaign impact, and competitive insights.
• Maintain evergreen media lists and create targeted lists based on campaign goals and priority markets.

Product Seeding & Mailers

• Oversee product shipments to press, hairstylists and VIPs ensuring timely and strategic delivery.
• Collaborate with the creative and logistics teams to develop and execute impactful PR outreach.

Press Materials & Content Development

• Assist in the creation of press materials, including product fact sheets, press releases, media pitches, and event recaps.
• Coordinate with the social media team to amplify PR initiatives across brand-owned channels.

Event Coordination & Logistics

• Support the execution of press and influencer events, including media previews, launch activations, and brand experiences.
• Assist with guest list management, event logistics, and on-site execution.

Budget & Administrative Support

• Manage invoicing and vendor payments, ensuring accurate tracking and timely processing.
• Work closely with the finance team to reconcile budgets and maintain organized records of PR spend.
• Supervise Coordinator, providing guidance, support, and day-to-day oversight to ensure smooth execution of communications initiatives.

About You:  

• 4+ years’ of experience in PR, communications, or influencer marketing within the beauty, fashion, or lifestyle industry (internship or full-time)
• Strong media and influencer knowledge with a pulse on beauty trends and key industry players
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Strategic thinker with problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and ability to execute flawlessly under tight timelines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Adobe Photoshop is a plus
• Passion for the hair, beauty, and fashion industries, with a deep understanding of influencer marketing, social media trends, and brand storytelling

Our Total Rewards: 

The annual base pay for this position is $80,000 - $99,000 with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, years of relevant experience, skill level, functional expertise, certificates or other professional licenses held and geographic location.
