Senior Brand Designer

Who we are at Osmo:

Osmo is a digital olfaction company, on a mission to give computers a sense of smell to improve the health and wellbeing of human life. Why? Our sense of smell both enriches and saves lives, and has a deep and direct connection to our emotions and memory. Vision and hearing have been digitized, but not scent. It’s time we solve this. We’re bringing an unprecedented combination of software, data, hardware and capital to the historic challenge of giving computers a sense of smell.

We believe in the power of automation and carefully applied AI/ML to solve problems that are beyond what the unaided human mind can tackle on its own. In the first phase of our development, we are using our map of odor along with cutting-edge generative AI to create the next generation of aroma molecules (e.g., the ingredients in the fragrances we wear and the products we use). Beyond fragrance machine olfaction has application across many industries, including manufacturing, military, medicine, and more. Working for Osmo means solving problems using digital olfaction for these customers. We're a hybrid company with our headquarters in New York, NY, an upcoming facility in New Jersey, and offices in Somerville, MA.

Osmo is seeking a Senior Brand Designer to help define and elevate Osmo’s visual identity, creating cohesive and compelling brand experiences across all touchpoints. Reporting to senior leadership, you’ll be a strategic, hands-on designer passionate about storytelling, visualization, and emerging technology.

Creative Leadership and Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Establish and maintain design systems, guidelines, and best practices to scale the brand effectively.

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, product, and leadership teams, as well as external contractors and agencies, to bring Osmo’s vision to life.

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects while adapting to different design styles and vocabularies.

Experimentation and Innovation

  • Push creative boundaries in a rapidly evolving category by integrating AI, motion graphics, and new media into Osmo’s brand presence.

  • Maintain a growth mindset to achieve mastery in interdisciplinary design skills.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in branding, visual storytelling, or creative direction at an agency or in-house at a lifestyle brand.

  • Experience working with strategic design briefs and developing well-rounded creative solutions.

  • Strong working knowledge of typography systems, UI frameworks, and wireframing.

  • Proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator for presentations.

  • Experience designing for direct-to-consumer products or branding agencies.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to present and refine work with key stakeholders.

  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
