Market & Media Strategist

Boundless Inc. is a part of Yahoo headquartered in the U.S. Boundless offers global advertising solutions that support the overseas expansion of Japanese companies and the expansion of overseas companies into Japan by leveraging its extensive experience and knowledge serving as a global company.

About the Role

We are seeking a Market & Media Strategist based in Tokyo to drive data-driven growth strategies for global clients looking to enter or expand in the Japanese market. This role requires expertise in market strategy, media planning, and campaign strategy, and a strong analytical mindset, and deep market research capabilities. The ideal candidate has experience at leading agencies or global brands, with a strong understanding of the Japanese media landscape and its strategic opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Market Strategy & Growth Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth research on market dynamics, competitor landscape, and industry trends in Japan.

  • Develop growth recommendations and expansion strategies tailored to the Japanese market.

  • Identify opportunities and challenges for global brands looking to establish or scale their presence in Japan.

🔹 Media Strategy & Planning

  • Develop media strategies leveraging Yahoo Japan, LINE, and emerging platforms such as DOOH, CTV, and transit advertising.

  • Optimize cross-platform advertising strategies to maximize engagement and ROI.

  • Identify new media and advertising opportunities in Japan’s evolving digital landscape.

🔹 Campaign Strategy & Execution

  • Create localized, data-driven advertising strategies aligned with client objectives.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless campaign execution.

Requirements:

10+ years of experience in market strategy, media planning, and campaign strategy, preferably at a leading agency or global brand.

✔ Strong analytical and market research skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

✔ Proven ability to develop comprehensive market, media and campaign strategies that drive business growth and meet client needs..

✔ Deep understanding of the Japanese advertising landscape and platforms,  across both online and offline channels.
✔ Ability to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, media partners, and global brands

✔ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
✔ Fluent in English and Japanese
