About the Team

The Investing Decisions team creates tools and experiences for investors across the spectrum—from long-term fundamental investors to short-term technical traders. Our mission is to help U.S. users navigate the markets, analyze investments, and discover new trade ideas. We focus on delivering intuitive features such as portfolio tracking, stock screeners, and advanced research capabilities, all found on Yahoo Finance.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to become the first Product Designer for Yahoo Finance based in India. You’ll join a global, cross-functional team focused on building powerful and accessible tools that support U.S.-based investors. As a Product Designer on the Research & Tools team, you’ll lead design efforts from concept to launch, helping shape the strategy, user experience, and visual language of tools that empower users to make smarter investment decisions. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other designers to build thoughtful, data-informed experiences across platforms.

Qualifications and Requirements

This role will require strength of character coupled with excellent communication, collaboration, and design skills, including:

Location 

• Bangalore. Hybrid work schedule requiring 3 days in office

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in Product Design

Communication & Collaboration

• Work well with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to align designs with user needs and business goals

• Able to clearly and proactively communicate design rationale and proposals

• Open to receiving and acting on feedback

Design Skills

• Strong design portfolio demonstrating how you’ve created elegant solutions for real user problems that have resulted in positive experiences and impactful outcomes

• Insightful product thinking and a user-centered approach to problem solving

• Excellent UX/Interaction Design and ability to simplify complicated flows

• High level of craft and clean visual design (typography, layout, color, etc.)

• Experience in data visualization or copywriting is a bonus

Technical Proficiency

• Mastery of Figma and other design and prototyping tools

• Solid understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS)

• Experience working with design systems and a commitment to maintaining them for consistent and seamless user experiences

Time Management

• Able to prioritize and work across multiple projects while meeting deadlines

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and manage expectations

• Experience working with Design teams overseas

Continuous Learning & Adaptability

• Stay up-to-date with design trends, tools, and best practices

• Willing to take on new challenges, learn from others, and figure things out

• Track record of continuously refining and evolving product experiences, streamlining workflows, and improving designs based on user feedback and testing
