We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr. MTS, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of features, projects, modules, and services that you and your team deliver in all phases of the software development lifecycle. Lead your team’s design and implementation of end-to-end solutions towards client-side applications using JavaScript, Node.js, React, GraphQL, and other relevant technologies. Lead architectural discussions and contribute to the overall technical direction of the client-side applications, advocating for best practices and innovative solutions. Optimize software performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks via monitoring, logging, and metrics to enhance the user experience. Advocate for clean, scalable, high-performing, secure, and reliable software services, in all areas, including coding, documentation, automation, etc. Establish processes for monitoring frameworks, and analyzing production platforms, Unix servers, and mission-critical systems with logging/alerting and self-healing integration solutions. Create testing harness/infrastructure/test cases/Automation geared towards ensuring the quality of the product. Lead and estimate engineering efforts, plan implementations, and the rollout applications integrating with cross-functional components. Telecommuting permitted – work may be performed from anywhere in the US.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus seven years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1.            Experience designing and developing large scale systems using Object Oriented Programming and Java (5 years)

2.            Experience developing REST APIs and micro services using Spring Boot framework (5 years)

3.            Experience designing systems that are high performance, scalable, secure, and reliable (5 years)

4.            Experience processing large amounts of data using Kafka (5 years)

5.            Experience automating tests using Junit (5 years)

Additional Job Description:

Salary: $226,158.00-287,100.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
