Our team describes us as a place for the curious and the driven, and we like to do things a little differently; as a transformative global fintech we’re digital, nimble, connected, and united in our vision to create a better way to trade.

We thrive on progress – for our clients and for ourselves. Our organisational culture is ever-evolving, vibrant, diverse, global and results focused. You’ll find our 550+ team currently across 11 locations and 9 time zones.

The Role
Our technology team thrives on inclusivity and collaboration, believing that diverse perspectives lead to great solutions. We foster a culture that champions individual growth, professional development, and work-life harmony. We're invested in your success and dedicated to supporting you every step of the way. We encourage our team to bring challenge thinking and fresh ideas to the table and our Agile approach empowers us to focus on outcomes. When we hire someone it`s because they bring the skills, attitude, and experience we're looking for....so we let you do what you are best at! Join us and be part of a community that's passionate about harnessing technology's potential to drive market-leading solutions for our clients. Elevate your career in an environment where your ideas matter, your growth is nurtured, and your potential is limitless. We are currently going through an exciting phase of growth as we invest in cutting-edge technologies.

This role is reporting to the Principal Enterprise Architect, based in Melbourne. It focuses on architectural strategy, decision-making, and cross-functional design across high-performing, event-driven systems. You’ll collaborate with engineering leads, program managers, and product teams to deliver scalable, strategic solutions that connect multiple value streams. This role is not embedded in a single team, but instead sits across programs — influencing, aligning, and driving architectural consistency throughout the organization.

Your contribution will be vital in aligning our architecture with long-term goals, especially as we scale rapidly.

You will support engineering and program leadership in designing modular, maintainable solutions; establish architectural decision frameworks; and ensure all systems play well together across our trading, payments, and customer platforms.

This is an ideal opportunity for a strategic thinker with a strong technical foundation who enjoys zooming out to the big picture and diving into technical details when it counts.

As our Solution Architect, your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design & Align: Create solution architecture that balances performance, flexibility, and alignment with enterprise-wide goals.
  • Strategic Influence: Guide architectural decisions using decision-making frameworks, not committees. Write architecture decision records (ADRs) and RFCs to create clarity across teams.
  • Collaboration Across Value Streams: Work closely with Engineering Managers, Principal Engineers, and Program Directors across 2–3 value streams.
  • Holistic Thinking: Build architectural consistency across platforms by understanding patterns across teams (e.g. Kubernetes vs ECS vs Compose) and guiding best-fit decisions.
  • Pattern-Driven Thinking: Apply architectural patterns where they fit — such as modular monoliths vs microservices — and help others understand trade-offs.
  • Drive Clarity: Help define and evolve how we review, document, and socialize architectural designs.
  • Promote Evolution: Enable teams to move fast while maintaining integrity in design and long-term scalability.

About You

  • You have hands-on engineering experience in at least one of: Go, Java, TypeScript.
  • You are not expected to write code daily, but you must understand technical trade-offs and deeply empathize with engineering realities.
  • You understand containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) at a conceptual level and can guide decisions involving infrastructure, even if you're not writing Terraform yourself.
  • You think in systems and flows — and you can visualize architectures, draw clear boundaries, and build mental models for others.
  • You are familiar with event-driven design, API patterns, and system integration.
  • You’ve worked in cross-functional, agile environments, and know how to influence without formal authority.
  • You are decisive, thoughtful, and comfortable being “the person who makes the call” — but open enough to shift when new input emerges.
