PT Research Assistant-ICECHIP

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science is seeking one or more undergraduate research assistants to support the NSF-funded ICECHIP field campaign, one of the largest collaborative efforts to study hailstorms in the past 50 years.
Position Summary:
Students hired into this role will assist with data preparation and research support tasks related to the ICECHIP campaign. Work will include coordination with Ph.D. student Lydia Spychalla, PSU ICECHIP faculty (Drs. Kumjian, Lombardo, Chen, and Zhang), and affiliated research groups.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning and logistics preparation for the field campaign
  • Support data entry, organization, and processing
  • Participate in coordination calls and documentation efforts
  • Contribute to post-field campaign analysis and documentation

Details:
  • $12.50/hour
  • Approximately 10–20 hours per week during Spring and/or Summer
  • Position may involve some evening or weekend hours based on project needs
