Engineering Manager

  • The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and mentoring our talented engineering team to deliver high-quality and innovative software solutions.
  • This role requires a blend of strong technical expertise and leadership skills, and an understanding of the unique needs of the e-commerce and retail industries.
  • The manager will guide the team in developing scalable, secure, and efficient software systems that drive business success while ensuring high standards of quality and operational excellence.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or engineering management role.
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams in the development of large-scale, complex software systems, particularly in the e-commerce space.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects successfully from inception through deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

Systems & Languages:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, PHP, or Node.js.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms and frameworks (Magento, Shopify, or similar platforms) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Circle CI, and version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL), caching systems (Redis), and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Fluent in English.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience implementing automated testing (unit, integration, UI) and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and balance multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of performance optimization, including front-end and back-end performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practices related to e-commerce, privacy, and secure demonstrated ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning within the engineering team.
