CT Tech - Radiology

As a CT Tech at UCHealth, you will be responsible for providing high-quality computed tomography images while ensuring patient safety. Your duties include reviewing patient histories, administering contrast media, and closely monitoring patient conditions during imaging procedures. To qualify for the CT Tech position at UCHealth, you must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program and hold registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT). Additionally, you should either be registered or eligible for certification in computed tomography (CT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 12 months of employment. A valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.

When preparing a patient for a CT scan, I first ensure that they understand the procedure, addressing any concerns they may have. I review their medical history to identify any potential risks, explain the steps of the scan, and inform them about what to expect during and after the procedure. Building rapport and easing their anxiety is crucial.

To ensure patient safety during imaging, I diligently monitor their medical histories, adhere to protocols for administering contrast media, and continuously observe their vital signs throughout the procedure. In the event of unexpected changes in a patient's condition during a CT scan, I prioritize patient safety. I would immediately stop the imaging process and assess the patient's status, providing necessary medical intervention if required, and promptly notifying the physician for further instructions.
