Responsibilities

St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center and the Barrow Neurological Institute® (BNI) have consistently been recognized for clinical and research excellence in an academic medical center setting and for the high quality of patient and employee experiences in the organizations. Laboratory-based research and patient-oriented clinical studies have international stature and often involve extensive collaborations with academic and industry partners regionally nationally and globally. There are educational experiences at secondary school undergraduate graduate and post-graduate levels.

 

Our laboratory conducts translational research to develop optimize and clinically validate MRI methods for neuroimaging applications. Specifically we focus on developing MRI techniques to address challenges in nerve brain and spinal cord imaging and translating these methods to clinical populations (e.g. to guide surgery improve diagnostics and serve as biomarkers of therapeutic response). We are seeking a student research technician to collaborate with lab personnel on various projects and interface with our clinical collaborators to help identify suitable research participants for these studies. The ideal candidate should have an interest in neurosurgery and neuroimaging along with the ability to work closely with a large team across a variety of clinical and research disciplines

 

 

Qualifications

Background in biology or chemistry preferred.

High School/GED Diploma Required 

Knowledge of research clinical or other scientific environment required.

Fundamental knowledge and background in the biological sciences or related field preferred.

 

Preferred: Familiar with laboratory techniques. Demonstrates an ability to continually improve performance.

Familiar with advanced computer skills and with aptitude to learn proper laboratory or clinical study techniques preferred.
