Population Health Director

Vatica Health offers a unique model that pairs risk adjustment and quality of care support using expert professional clinical teams with cutting-edge technology at the point of care to provide prescriptive clinical decision support. By capturing or recommending key events that can be used for quality measurement performance, our solution helps improve financial performance for health plans and providers and supports the expansion of Vatica's national provider networks. 

As the Population Health Director, you will be responsible for building and advancing Vatica Health's quality of care product and CCM capabilities. You will work closely with the Director of Provider Engagement, Quality Consultant(s), Medical Director, and CCO, as well as the Client Engagement, Sales, Data Enterprise Management, and Product teams. You will facilitate working sessions with customers' quality teams to understand their use cases and find creative and measurable solutions. This role will develop a detailed understanding of Vatica's business processes, goals, and strategies relevant to Quality of Care.

The Population Health Director will have a meaningful and measurable impact on rounding out Vatica Health's product offerings. 

Responsibilites

  • Support senior Clinical leadership to define and scale the annual Quality-of-Care /CCM product roadmap to meet target performance, client yields, metrics and vision. 
  • Responsible for developing, defining, and overseeing the product's roadmap and managing it as required for the purpose of meeting deliverables for the business 
  • Incorporate the existing development-backlog and make priorities as determined by the business, customers, and market needs 
  • Champion the Quality-of-Care roadmap during planning sessions to deliver vision and business requirement documents with prioritized features and corresponding justification. 
  • Experience with project management tools and protocols are a must 
  • Lead the Quality-of-Care department with clear and efficient road-mapping implementation, product planning, prioritization, and resource management. 
  • Cultivate the Quality-of-Care team to understand the product's vision, the business case, as well as compiling the product planning material necessary for driving product initiatives further with clarity and consensus 
  • Act as a source of direction, training, and guidance for less experienced staff. 
  • Collaborate with other Directors in cross functional departments to place the executive management in a position to translate product needs into requirements and achievement of company goals. 
  • Collaborate with corporate product marketing on positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies of the Quality of Care program. 
  • Research and maintain a working knowledge of the industry trends for data exchange platforms, data analytics, and quality of care measure platforms. Must be able to translate the implications of these trends into actionable requirements for development. 
  • Provide business expertise regarding the appropriate use of Quality of Care data elements and participate with inter-departmental data governance/reporting analytic teams to set and maintain the common business rules. 
  • Present frequent briefings on product capabilities, vision, value propositions, and roadmap progress to current and prospective customers, clinical operations team leadership, and the sales team. 
  • Build and maintain customer relationships with strategic customers as a trusted advisor to ensure their success, manage escalations, perform requirements analysis and product planning activities. 
  • Field, evaluate and triage potential projects and performance studies based on the value, cost benefit analysis and the urgency of the request. 
  • Perform strategic data analysis and research to support business needs. 
  • Extensive work with the data enterprise management teams to establish business rules, ensure feature specifications, and monitor all phases of implementation for adherence. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree, advanced degree preferred. (Clinician Preferred) 
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years related technical and professional experience. 
  • Experience in thought leadership to be better positioned to drive and inspire such an important department. 
  • Proven track record in program planning, defining, and launching successful products. 
  • Skills required include business acumen, strategic planning, organizational assessment, creativity, highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills, quantitative analytical abilities and outstanding communication skills including public speaking capabilities. 
  • Ability to work effectively within a cross functional organization. 
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry required, particularly experience with value-based care programs including HEDIS, MACRA: MIPS, Star ratings and social determinants of health / patient engagement initiatives, and with quality reporting codes sets including but not limited to SNOMED, LOINC, etc. 
  • Fluent in NCQA HEDIS Technical Specifications and HOS/CAHPS specification 
  • Technical savvy to participate actively in plans to transform and modernize enterprise software. 
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in highly matrixed organizations. 
  • Must be analytical and agile with the ability to analyze data and make sound strategic business decisions quickly with ambiguous or incomplete data. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and presentation skills. 
  • Exceptional leadership, management, and teamwork skills. 
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across the organization at all levels. 
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and change. 
  • Salesforce, Power BI, Excel, Microsoft Visio (or similar), Advanced PowerPoint Presentation skills.
