Team Summary:

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability.

Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, data modelling, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results. Currently the team has 1500+ professionals (including consultants, data scientists, designers, digital marketers and economists) globally with 2,350+ projects executed in 2024. Key focus area of VCA is to drive Value-in-kind (VIK) revenue, include consulting VIK to displace cash incentives in every new or renewal client deals and build a strong team of data scientists and consultants.

The incumbent will be part of VCA Data Labs team based out of Bangalore, and will be responsible for building new data products, and support in delivering Visa Managed Services data science engagements for Visa's clients across the Asia Pacific region. What an Associate Data Scientist will do and learn at Visa:

The Associate Data Scientist will serve as an individual contributor and a member of the VCA Data Labs team, reporting to the Data Labs Lead AP. This position will be based in Visa's India office in Bengaluru.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and build scalable data products that can be delivered to clients based out of our Bangalore delivery hub
• Manage and deliver analytics projects from conception to completion with actionable insights and recommendations
• Support defining methodology, creating and executing on the data framework with appropriate methodologies
• Clearly communicate the findings and recommendations from analysis, drive deployment and implementation of analytics solutions, and track business value impact
• Work with VisaNet (i.e., Visa’s transaction data), clients and 3rd party data sources to create advanced data-driven solutions and dashboards
• Actively seek out opportunities to innovate by using non-traditional data and new modelling techniques fit for purpose to the needs of our clients
• Engage with, and manage internal stakeholders across different data projects in AP

What you will need:
We are looking for a motivated, analytical minded individual with a track record of using data science and analytics expertise to unlock business value. A successful candidate should have accumulated a variety of experience, be curious about payments industry and application of data analytics, be results-driven and client-centric.

• Degree (Masters or higher would be an advantage) in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Business Analytics or equivalent experience
• 2 to 3 years of professional experience in Data Analytics/ Data Science/ AI/ Machine Learning
• Deep analytical expertise in applying statistical solutions to business problems
• Experience with extracting and aggregating data from large data sets using SQL, Hive, Spark, or other tools
• Experience on programming languages (Python and/or C or more), ML/DL tools, Scikit-learn, Tensorflow or PyTorch and proficiency in one or more statistical techniques: Neural Networks, Gradient Boosting, Linear & Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Markov Chains, Support Vector Machines, Clustering, Principal Component Analysis, Factor analysis, etc
• Experience working with visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
• Demonstrated ability to innovate solutions and solve business problems
• Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, including strong oral and written capabilities

What will also help:

• Experience in analytics for retail banking, card issuing or consulting to retail banks
• Good understanding of payments and banking
• Story boarding and data story telling including strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
• Experience in working closely with data science community
