The Opportunity:

Are you ready to lead and excel in your field? As a Lead Control Technician, you will guide control technicians in performing journey-level work related to inspection, testing, and servicing various tasks, equipment, and devices. You will take charge of installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of complex HVAC, mechanical, control, and alarm systems to support building and campus operations. Your role involves using all types of electronic/mechanical test equipment, creative troubleshooting techniques, personal computers, and programming software. You will perform periodic testing and maintenance of ventilation equipment and fume hoods, including maintaining databases and equipment for required maintenance. You will also order and maintain an inventory of repair parts. Additionally, you will provide technical support to other Crafts/Technicians in the testing, troubleshooting, and repair of campus HVAC, alarm, and mechanical systems. Required Qualifications:

  • One year of full-time experience as a Control Technician, or equivalent trade skill. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.


Monthly Salary:

$5,117 to $5,929 | Range 50G (Steps G - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
