Join Achieve and be a crucial part of our dynamic team as we navigate the dynamic world of Credit Risk. We're currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated intern to join our Credit Risk team. In this role, you'll have the chance to dive into the intricacies of Credit Risk, contribute to our model performance tracking, and help optimize the credit risk model.

This Credit Risk Intern offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Credit Risk Model performance tracking/building while making a significant impact on our decisioning initiatives. We're seeking a self-starter who thrives in collaborative environments and is eager to learn and grow in the field of Credit Risk management.

Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Monitor the performance of our credit risk models (approval rates, actual loan performance, fair lending etc…)

  • Dive deep into all decision points of the business and optimize them based on volume/loss trade-off

  • Develop your skills by building Python/Tableau tools to identify opportunities to grow the business

  • Summarize & present results in a concise and digestible manner to senior leaders

  • Work with sales/marketing/capital market/underwriting teams to improve decisioning based on their feedback

  • Gain business intelligence by collaborating with different teams across Achieve

Qualifications

  • Currently a junior going into their senior year or recent graduate at an accredited University - Computer Science - Statistics Major is preferred

  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Finance

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong verbal and communication skills required

  • Strong SQL coding skills

  • Proficiency in using tools like Python/R, Tableau and GCP is required

  • Bonus: Great visualization skills

***As an Intern for the summer of 2025, we are looking for College students who are juniors going into their Senior year. This role will be working hybrid out of San Mateo for 12 weeks starting May 27th. You will be working 20-30 hours per week at a rate of 20 dollars an hour.
