Position Overview

The Data Engineer at the Walton Arts Center and Walmart AMP is a critical role responsible for building and maintaining data systems, data warehouses, and data pipelines to enable data-driven decision-making. This role collaborates with the IT Director and other teams to strategize and implement roadmaps for data management, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility across platforms.


Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data warehouses and pipelines to ingest data from multiple sources.
  • Clean, transform, and organize data to ensure data quality and usability for analytics and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the IT Director to develop data strategies and roadmaps aligned with business goals.
  • Create and maintain data visualizations and dashboards to provide insights into key performance metrics.
  • Manage data integration with external systems, including CRM, ticketing platforms, and other enterprise tools.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and governance standards are met.
  • Optimize the performance of databases and data platforms, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
  • Monitor data systems and troubleshoot performance issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver customized data solutions.
  • Stay current with data engineering trends and technologies to continuously improve processes.


Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or related role.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing.
  • Knowledge of API integrations and data pipeline automation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.


Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work is required for events.


$40,000 - $45,000 a year
