COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Auria is a leading global supplier of highly-engineered systems for automotive flooring, acoustical, thermal, aerodynamic and other fiber-based solutions for gas and electric vehicles. With U.S.-based operational headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, Auria operates 16 manufacturing, 9 technical and 5 JV locations across 10 countries and employs approximately 3,900 people worldwide.
We are currently searching for Commercial Manager to join our team in Mexico. This role will be responsible for:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Conducts regular contact and communication with purchasing and other key program customer personnel relative to relationship development and closure of commercial issues. Consults with the operations team in the identification and closure of commercial issues. Collaborate with corporate finance with the objective of increasing market share, optimizing profitability, and maintaining the positive perception of Auria as a world-class supplier. Generally, completes the following duties and responsibilities with the support of senior sales personnel.
 
Major Responsibilities
  • Obtain new business opportunities from customers (RFQ), communicate and lead the internal quotation process, conduct quote approval and upon approval, submit proposal to the customer.
  • Provide input in the development of commercial objectives and strategies. Execute strategies to achieve common goals of the Corporate Team.
  • Remain knowledgeable of customer’s business strategy, participate in the validation of opportunities, appropriately communicate information and opportunities within Auria.
  • Attend Product Development and other program team meetings to provide commercial goals and provide resolution of commercial issues.
  • Maintain lead commercial responsibility, complete assigned tasks and resolve commercial issues to ensure compliance to program objectives and commercial targets.

  • Assure timely and accurate documentation of sales deliverables per the Global Development and Launch System (GDLS). Ensure timely flow of business documents between the customer and Auria.
  • Ensure documentation of key negotiations and agreements. Ensure documented agreements meet financial guidelines and requirements
  • Drive closure on commercial issues. Participate in quality and production meeting as necessasry and negotiate commercial recovery of engineering changes.
  • Participate with program management team and support organization regarding cost reduction proposals. Provide input concerning priority, likelihood of customer acceptance, and applicability to program business strategy.
 
Education & Experiences & Software
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher: Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Ideally 8 years of experience in the automotive industry: Automotive Sales, Program Management, or Engineering.
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)
  • ERP (Plex preferred)
Main skills
  • Minimum 10 years of sales and/or program management experience, preferred with European OEMs (BMW, Mercedes, Volvo)
  • Working knowledge of relevant cost models and supplier costs (Molding, JIT, trim).
  • Knowledge of customer, product, and supply base.
  • Experience with interior soft trim product manufacturing (Preferred).
  • Proven customer-networking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and technical presentations. Exceptional Attention to Detail is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks within and across departments to meet established and changing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated successful performance with problem solving, presentations, and leadership.
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. 
  • English advanced and German intermediate
