Engineer, Backend

Employment Type: Full-time. Must be willing to relocate to the Bay Area (Menlo Park). In office 3 days per week.

We’re seeking a backend engineer to join our team, and are happy to consider applications of all levels. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in building our cloud security platform. As a engineer, you won’t just write code; you’ll also wear an entrepreneurial hat. You’ll collaborate closely with our leaders outside engineering, along with customers, partners, and investors, as we take our product from 0 → 1 → N.

Bedrock Security is the latest investment of Greylock Partners. Greylock has backed a number of successful startups, including Palo Alto Networks, Sumo Logic, and Abnormal Security, along with non-security companies such as Airbnb, Figma, and Roblox.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Backend Logic:

    • Create robust and scalable services.

    • Ensure service security and scalability.

    • Maintain our technology stack, including Golang, Python, Node, AWS infrastructure, Neo4j and more.

  • Move the Needle at a Scrappy Startup:

    • Work closely with other engineers, product management, marketing, and customers.

    • Contribute to architectural decisions and system design.

  • Drive Innovation:

    • Be part of the creative process, shaping the future of data security.

    • Propose and implement novel solutions to complex challenges.

  • Continuous Learning and Adaptation:

    • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.

    • Adapt to changing requirements and business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • Proven experience as a backend engineer, preferably in security-related domains.

  • Proficiency in backend cloud technologies such as Java and databases (e.g., SQL, Neo4j).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take ownership.
