As an NSO Mentor at BYU–Hawaii, you'll play a crucial role in welcoming and guiding new students during their transition to campus life. This temporary role, running from April 24 to April 27, 2024, is perfect for those who have started to build their skills and gain experience, ideally sophomores or juniors who are familiar with both introductory and advanced coursework. You'll support the New Student Orientation leadership by interacting directly with incoming students, helping them navigate their new environment. From guiding students through orientation events and answering their questions to sharing your personal experiences at BYUH, your insights will be invaluable in helping them feel comfortable and confident. You will facilitate small group discussions that foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, assist with registration processes, and handle clerical tasks like data entry. Your ability to interact positively and effectively will be key, as you will be someone's first point of contact. If you're passionate about helping others and have at least three months of general work experience – preferably as a Holokai Foundations Mentor – this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved, make a difference, and gain more hands-on experience in a supportive role. Join us in making the new students' first impression of BYUH memorable and enjoyable. We can’t wait to see the energy and enthusiasm you will bring to this role!
