In addition, all individuals hired into a early career role in Cat Digital will participate in L.E.A.D (learn, engage, adapt, develop), which is a 12-month onboarding program. Through this program, you will gain networking opportunities, Caterpillar, Cat Digital and technical acumen. Software engineering roles are primarily in the verticals below:Digital Product Management – work with internal and external customers by creating, analyzing and validating business requirements, translating them into detailed functional requirements and user stories, and defining acceptance criteria and test cases.Dealer & Customer Support – help drive deployment and support of Caterpillar’s key digital products and maturing data management processes.Digital Connectivity – help develop, certify and deliver high quality telematics solutions to enhance customer insights.What You Have – Skills and ExperiencesExamples of skills and technologies that previous hires have utilized include:Creating, analyzing, and validating business requirements, translating them into detailed functional requirements and user stories, and defining acceptance criteria and test casesData mining, data cleansing, and data visualization of information related to the connected asset population and showing progress against our targets for our programsRoutinely involved in daily production runs, dashboard creations / edits, and automating processes to increase efficienciesWork with business partners to ensure they have the web behavior they need as well as be able to connect it to many other Caterpillar data set for deeper dives and insightsBuilding and managing a marketing data warehouse and support analysis using advertising/marketing data projects with Google Cloud Platform and Big QueryRequirements gathering for application software changes, gathering and analysis of business needs and user voiceDegree RequirementsCurrently attending or recently graduated from a 4-year accredited university/college with a bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, marketing analytics, digital marketing, computer science, data analytics, data visualization or related programTop candidates will also haveCandidates must currently be participating or have participated in a Caterpillar student programMinimum cumulative GPA requirement 3.0/ 4.0 (no rounding)Expected graduation date between April 2024 through June 2025Demonstrated experience using skills and technologies listed abovePrevious demonstrated leadership experiencePrevious technical work experience demonstrating technical aptitudePassion for technology and an eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environmentAdditional InformationLocations for this position are typically Chicago and Peoria Illinois. Actual salary will be based on degree, completed degree level and prior internship experience at Caterpillar.
