The Role

The packer position is responsible for packing produce by the client’s request; responsible for properly securing the produce in the pallets. Ensures sanitation of work area.

The order builder position is responsible for picking and palletizing customer orders. This position requires working in a refrigerated warehouse average 34 degrees. 

Essential duties, but not limited to:

• Packing and labeling produce
• Package product with speed and accuracy
• Able to distinguish different types of produce by color, size, and name
• Identifies produce by size and weight for appropriate packaging.
• Distinguishes special packaging for Customer and packs the orders accordingly
• Verifies packing reports for specific instructions such as, quantities, etc.
• Distinguishes bags which need UPC labels for store and delivery scanning
• Lifting repetitively up to 50lbs
• Keeps work area free of litter and debris
• Complies with safety procedures in the workplace
• Performs other duties as assigned, may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed
• Pick produce orders and stack on a pallet per customer order
• Stage completed pallets and complete all related paperwork 
• Work in a team to get additional projects completed  
• Maintain a clean and professional work place - clean up as you go - corner boards, pallet ties, etc.
• Follow all safety, food safety and facility procedures

Required Skills and Experience

• Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs occasionally - up to 6 hours per day
• Work in a refrigerated environment, average temperature 34 degrees
• Ability to communicate with team and supervisors
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions
• Ability to understand and follow all safety rules, procedure manuals, and diagrams
• Hand and finger movement is required frequently to pack produce and distinguish produce types
• Previous experience operating an electric pallet jack
• Must speak some English
