Controller

Ensuring Chart’s Success…The Controller is primarily responsible for providing financial services, which include operational support to the Business Unit in accordance with Chart policies and procedures. This includes ensuring a sound internal control environment, timely and accurate financial reporting, supporting operating and financial reporting systems, and management of divisional assets and cash flows. It is the responsibility of the Controller to advise of relevant technical matters or new developments that may affect the Division’s financial results or structure. The scope of the position includes both the US and Canadian business units within CPI Americas with full P&L and balance sheet responsibility.What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…Policies, Procedures, and Internal Control:• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting, policies, procedures, and internal control for billing, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, payroll, month-end closing, and audit process• Analyze and interpret technical accounting and control issues related to percent of completion (POC), revenue recognition, project progress payments and total invoicing.• Ensure compliance with required controls identified in Chart’s internal controls manual and resolve non-compliant issues immediately.• Ensure compliance with divisional policies and procedures.• Serve as liaison with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audit requests2. Financial Administration:• Perform controllership activities for business unit.• Direct efforts to maximize division cash flow and return on invested capital.3. Financial Reporting:• Ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of financial information supported by appropriate documentation and analyses.• Enter and report financial data from ERP into the corporate consolidation system• Analyze and interpret technical accounting issues to ensure compliance.4. Business Systems:• Support and leverage the ERP Financial systems from a user perspective to achieve optimal finance function effectiveness and efficiency.5. Operating Plans:• Support overall budget and forecasting activities for Business Unit in accordance with set timetables.• Establish and maintain key performance indicators.• Prepare analysis and assist in efforts to manage business unit operations to achieve planned operating goals.6. Professional:• Advise management of relevant technical matters or new developments that may affect financial results or forecasts.• Ensure all financial and reporting changes directed by corporate or divisional finance are implemented immediately.• Advise of any actual or suspected accounting/financial irregularities immediately.• Assist in developing plans to drive continuous improvement throughout critical business functions and decision criterion for commercial opportunities.• Other duties as assigned by management.7. Environmental, Safety & Health• Ensure safe work practices are followed by consistently reporting all safety incidents and near misses on a timely basis and maintaining the goal of “zero” lost time incidents.8. Partnership• Partners with all central functions such as Quality, Engineering, Finance, IT, and HR to ensure that enabling strategies and tactics are in place and are consistent with broader business strategies and tacticsYour Education Should Be…• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceYour Professional Experience Should Be…• A minimum of 3-5 years of direct financial management or controller experience.• Working knowledge of ERP and consolidation systems• Proficient in Microsoft Office Software• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.• Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent oral and written communication skills.• Broad business knowledge; must understand how a business works and impact of decisions with regard to profitability, quality, sales, forecasting, product development, etc.• Ability to learn continuously• The ability to interact with diverse global cultures and demonstrate effective communication and team building skills with associates, vendors and customers in a variety of business functions.• Positive attitude, ethics, and values necessary to support the company's mission and a high performance culture.Chart is an equal opportunity employer...Need an Accommodation...Need an accommodation with your job application or recruitment process?
