Job Description

The Total Fund Management Department:

In Total Fund Management ("TFM"), we are building the capabilities to enable a consistent framework for the long-term management of the firm's investment strategy. TFM consists of seven groups: Applied Research & Models, Exposure, Leverage, & Liquidity Management, Portfolio Design and Construction, Trading, TFM Business Management.

The Exposure, Leverage, and Liquidity Management (ELLM) team works in partnership with groups across TFM and is responsible for the management of the total Fund’s Equity and Fixed Income Balancing Portfolios, leverage, and public market liquidity portfolios. ELLM is currently recruiting portfolio management interns in the team from May to August 2025. Candidates in an undergraduate co-op program or non-co-op program who will be graduating in December 2025 or later are eligible to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping our team with day-to-day portfolio management and financing execution activities on the desk, such as risk analysis, profit- and-loss attribution and other analysis.
  • Developing on desk analytical tools.
  • Ad-hoc projects analyzing topics such as portfolio management, trading, market structure and financing opportunities.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will be graduating from an undergraduate or graduate program in December 2025 (or later) and is working towards a degree in a STEM or business field.
  • The team works in a dynamic interactive environment which requires the candidate to have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in finance/investment management.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Candidates must exemplify CPP Investments’ guiding principles of high performance, integrity, and partnership.
