The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) is an integral part of the City’s evolving criminal justice system, participating in reform initiatives and strategies aimed to move the City towards a smaller jail system without compromising public safety. The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, volunteers, and people in our custody. Importantly, safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully re-enter their communities. The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 7,500 diverse professionals and knowledgeable experts.
The IT Division is in need of a Sr. Voice Technical Engineer Supervisor. Assisting the Telecom Manager with overseeing a team of approx. 8 Technicians. Responsible for all the installation, configuration and support of DOC Voice Communications running on both Cisco IP Telephony and Legacy Harris PBX systems. Responsible for 24x7 support and coverage across all DOC operations and facilities in the City of NY.
Preferred Skills
- At least 5+ years of experience working with Cisco Call Manager
(version 10.x and above) and Unity.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end support services, including telecommunication
and network infrastructure.
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco UC, including Call Manager, Presence Server, and
Contact Center Express.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
- Proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle
multiple tasks simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco voice technologies and network infrastructure.
