Job Summary

Are you interested in joining a team that’s working on a large-scale observability project? As a full stack developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting specific components of a large-scale observability platform. You will work with other engineers and researchers with backgrounds in advanced fields such as big data and machine learning. As a key member of the team, you will help define, refine, and test state of the art algorithms, and scale the associated systems for high performance, stability, and availability.

General Responsibilities:

  • Building the tools to administer/monitor a large-scale distributed database.
  • Building an observability platform on a massive scale
  • Writing production-quality, tested code.
  • Understanding the code base thoroughly in breadth and depth, as well as managing code repositories and development infrastructure.
  • Producing technical designs and documentation at varying levels of granularity
  • Collaborating with our quality assurance and technical operations teams to provide outstanding customer service
  • Resisting the accrual of “technical debt” in our systems.
  • Creating aggregate materialized views/tables
  • Troubleshooting SQL queries
  • Researching data discrepancies  
  • Managing ClickHouse Database
  • Building Grafana dashboards

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience developing/troubleshooting large scale distributed systems
  • 1+ years of working ClickHouse development and administration knowledge
  • 3+ years of Java development
  • 1+ years of Go development
  • 1+ years of Linux administration
  • 1+ years of Python development
  • Excellent SQL skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with supporting internal and external customers
  • Experience in all aspects of data systems (both Big Data and traditional) including schema design, ETL, aggregation strategy, and performance optimization.
  • Experience building performant Grafana dashboards
  • Experience building React front ends
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Experience using Ansible
  • Experience using MongoDB
  • Experience using Kafka
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science
  • Experience working on internal Comcast platforms preferred

Compensation

Primary Location Pay Range: $112,564.64 - $168,846.96

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
