Compensation includes a base salary of $104,600.00 - $157,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

We’re recruiting a UX Architect II to join the team at Cox Automotive. In this role, you’ll envision, plan and lay the UX groundwork for a family of products. You’ll create or modify design systems, establish interaction rules within a product family, evangelize UX principles and more. The right candidate will be metric-sensitive and able to articulate a strategic vision through both documentation, presentation and relationship-building.

   

What You’ll Do 

You’ll plan, design and guide the overall UX interaction design implementation across digital platforms to ensure a usable, familiar and successful experience. You’ll collaborate across other UX organizations and guide interaction designers to create complementary products that form a true ecosystem. Here’s what else you’ll be doing:

·       Developing a deep understanding of our customers and business needs by participating in user research activities, including persona development/evangelism, heuristic evaluation and usability reviews.

·       Assessing existing information architecture, content and design on an ongoing basis to identify experience gaps and contradictions.

·       Creating user stories and flow diagrams, plus defining information hierarchies.

·       Protecting the consistency of the overall user interface and ensure that individual components can be extended and reused.

·       Collaborate with technical teams to determine data accessibility and understand technology constraints/advantages for the design structure.

·       Examine web analytics to inform overall UX design strategy.

·       Help facilitate the visual design and content of reusable components and the design system.

·       Identify research-based opportunities to create business value and improve UX.

·       Champion user needs and product usability while balancing business and technical constraints.

·       Articulate rationale behind decisions and how to prioritize interface features.

·       Identify tools, templates and techniques that evolve existing processes.

 

Who You Are 

You can produce user experience documentation like storyboards, user scenarios/tasks/flows, wireframes and prototypes (and you’ve got a portfolio to prove it). An avid learner who is fascinated by human behavior, you stay up to date on the latest trends and research in product design, SEO and web/mobile technologies work across multiple business units and brands. You also have:

 

Minimum: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 6 years’ experience in a related field
  • Knowledge or understanding of user-centered design methods, techniques and other UX principles.
  • Basic understanding and proficiency with Figma
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience as a UX Architect II, designing for mobile devices, including responsive design is a plus.
  • Experience working with teams on large-scale, long-term projects.
  • Experience with group facilitation.
  • Able to work on multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Able to make intuitive leaps to hypothesize design solutions.
  • Able to understand the big picture along with expert attention to fine detail.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and to convincingly articulate ideas and rationale.
  • Able to work across multiple internal business units and companies.
  • Able to work both solo and within a team.
  • Able to lead and influence without direct authority.

Drug Testing

To be employed in this role, you’ll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position.
